The Queen of England-ET

The throne of England has always represented the peak of power and resolution in the Commonwealth. Briton's power has reached out to the far corners of the earth and left its mark (in the form of the British language) inspiring many countries. At the center of this empire reigned the Royal Family.
The royal family only came to be through many long years of fierce battle. Coming out on top led the people of England to follow this sense of power very willingly. The monarchs of England certainly lived up to there role. Almost every European country has challenged the British (from the French in 1076, right up to Germany in WW1 and 2) and every time Briton has shown her power. Still, I can't quite imagine our Queen Elizabeth II pulling out a sword and slaying someone down.

After such a long history of Kings and Queens who fight huge battles to save their country, I think England want's to hold on to their throne and many smaller countries, see British rule as a great protection.
When the British govern a country, even if they only influence its government, there are certain features of there own society that they tended to bring into the country. Such things are...

1) The English Language
2) English forms of land tenor
3) Scottish and English banking
4) The common law
5) Protestantism
6) Team sports
7) The limited or 'nightwatchmen' state
8) Represented assemblies
9) The idea of liberty

These virtues attract many countries to the protection of the British Empire, and the governance of the crown. Being in the previous Empire or Commonwealth means the countries must reign under the monarch of England. This popular deception of the Royalty, further boosts the idea of a Royal family.

So all in all, even though nowadays the Queen doesn't do quite as much as maybe the Royals used to, she still upholds the moral values the were destined for her role almost 1000 years back and still represents all the virtues of the original British Empire.
