Picture books from our childhood - Ben

When I was growing up picture books played a big role in getting my reading skills to where they are now. I think that they are very good way to encourage kids to read because of the bright colourful pictures and riming words that fill the pages of the books.

My favourite childhood picture book is Where the Wild Things are. I like it because "Max" the main character, goes on an adventure to where the wild things are. They become friends and in the end Max wakes up and discovers that it is all just a dream.

I can think of so many good picture books that I have read about a thousand times each including Hairy Mclairy, The Gruffalo and The Little Mole that knew that it was None of his Business. Most of them are read by thousands of parents around the world. In conclusion I think that picture books are very important to children around the world as they help improve their reading skills early.
