Picture books from our childhood - HarryC

My favourite picture book has to be 'Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks and Things That Go' written by Richard Scarry. I don't know how many times I have read this book but it is tattered and falling apart. Ever since I was a kid I have loved cars and trucks and everything with wheels. So there was no wonder that I loved this book.

I think that a good picture book is something that must interest you, must be written with the simplest of words and overall something that you want to just read over and over again.

What this picture book does really well is the drawing, I love the way that all these cars are real life cars just made cartoony for the book. I think that picture books hold a big part in our library, when juniors come to the library a lot of them will run straight for the picture books. There is no way that picture books are just for juniors they should be able to be enjoyed by everybody. If I could write a picture book it would definitley be about cars.
