Good morning boys. I am currently reading a biography of Keith Richards of Rolling Stones fame. It is called Life and I have only just started. I have learnt about his early days, childhood, schooling, first guitar, meeting Sir Mick Jagger for the first time etc but the most riveting parts have been his explanation of his connection with music. He tells of his obsession with listening to and collecting records with like-minded people, mainly early blues music from artists such as Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker and how he was "looking for the core of it - the expression". History shows us that, along with his Rolling Stones band mates, "Keef" became a rock legend. He has had well documented problems throughout his life but his appetite for living, loving and expressing himself through music has been and still is enormous. I remember as a 9/10 year-old first discovering music and then, throughout high school days, 'taping' music from the radio to make up my compilation tapes (yesterday's playlists). Over the last year or two I have rediscovered a passion for new music by using Spotify. The seemingly endless supply of brilliant musicians never ceases to amaze me. What sort of music do you love? Which bands send a tingle down your spine? Which artist (contemporary or historical) would you like to have around for a bbq and a natter? How important is music in your life?
I think so too!
