Picture books from our childhood - Foamy the Flying Llama

In my opinion, the best picture books have simple, lively and easy - to - read words, a moral or  person reading it should learn something from it. They also should have simple, quirky art, and lots of crazy phrases and sentences that are full of alliteration, repetition, rhyme and onomatopoeia (funny word lol).

Pretty much all picture books are not read by the younger child, so the book should have great words that sound good when read aloud.

My favorite picture book is probably 'A Fright at the Orcas,' (see below) by Anna Kenna (actually, she signed it for me). It has two morals - don't judge a book by it's cover (or in this case, a snake), and don't be driven by fear.

In my opinion, picture books aren't just for 'little kids' - we are all little kids at heart, and picture books never grow too old to read!
