The Queen is but an international figurehead who merely attends and watches things being done rather than doing things herself. However, it is rather difficult to run a country when one is so old (87 years old, really!). On the other hand, she is a rather healthy old person and is capable of running a country and not just sitting back and having paintings done of her. The royal family is royal because they don't do much. Though Queen Elizabeth II is the top of the top of our country, she doesn't act like she is in charge of it.
In my opinion, the Queen and the royal family have had their day and capable people should take over their role to potentially make the country grow.
