The Power of Music - Marcus

I love music. Music is my life. It keeps me motivated when I work and it lets me pass the time when there is nothing to do. I play the piano, take singing lessons, sing in the school choir and sing in the Cathedral Choir of Saint Pauls.

To me, the X Factor NZ is a failed attempt to find someone with real talent. There is no one on the show that I find stands out over others and the judges are overrated snobs who know nothing about the art of music. Apparently, the reason they had a double elimination is because they were really flying below the radar with popularity so they needed to speed up the show. New Zealand's Got Talent is a very good show in my opinion and the judges are great.

I take singing for every elective I can. I take singing lessons, I won Wellesley's Got Talent, I won Bus Idol, I am in the school choir and I am a deputy head choristor in the Wellington Cathedral Choir of Saint Pauls. I also play piano. I have completed Grade 4 in Trinity Guildhall exams and am doing Trinity Grade 5 equivalent pieces such as 'Valses Sentamentales' and 'Old Grandmother's Tale'.

To me, the power of music is the world's amazing gift and I will never leave it.

  1. I think that the X factor is too dramatic.

  2. I know right. It was never going to be a success without Simon Cowell. Marcus, I heard you are a great singer, you should go somewhere with it professionally. I am also doing Grade 5 Piano. Good luck!
