Private Peaceful...from book to movie - William
I enjoyed the wonderfully written novel by Michael Morpurgo Private Peaceful, and the movie ruined the whole Private Peaceful experience. The movie did little justice to the book, and the fact that someone should be allowed to make such a movie is a complete travesty. The producers/directors cut crucial scenes out of the movie such as important moments in Charlie and Tommo's childhood. Despite the truly harrowing experience of watching the movie, my overall rating for the book and the movie would be 6/10, the book being 9/10 and the movie 3/10, at my most generous point of view, trying to find the good parts in the movie. I would probably make a Stop/Motion scene of when the German was about to shoot Tommo's, but doesn't and instead gets shot himself.
