I am very excited to begin a new year here at 7/8T as a veteran of the classroom. I feel I have a lot more to offer this year, as I know how to do everything. I look forward to making an I.S. of a much higher quality this year.
I want to try and get my iPad taken away at lunchtimes/morning teas less than three times this year, although I'm already at Strike One. I won't be running for House Captain, but I will still support Marlborough avidly.
I really like our new class novel, even reading it a second time round, and it is a really interesting book. Mark Haddon is a great writer it give us an insight into the world of a boy with Aspergers. I am enjoying it a lot more than my current novel, but one cannot really compare them, because my current novel is a thriller based around an evil company trying to use a biological weapon to kill everyone in the world except 2000 genetic candidates specially selected, whereas The Curious Incident is a book simply about a boy and the way he lives his life. I find it interesting, how he comes up against different barriers to other people, due to his disorder.
If you can get a whole term without it taken away then I will do something... Anyway being a year 8 make you feel more... more responsible and you have to do something different. Do you agree?
ReplyDeleteI like the name of this post, very funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I agree, Noah, but me going a whole term without getting my iPad taken away is about as likely as getting Sauron to join a book group.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know Sauron does not read? I hear he likes a bit of Shakespeare...
