I seriously thinks this is ridiculous. This whole thing.  Sure, our current flag looks like the Australians, but really? The silver fern is for sporting events only. Look at the military side of things. To me, and many others, black means death. If I was in the military, I would want to die under the current flag, not one that is black and involves sporting. And could you imagine the chaos changing the flag would cause? This will cost billions to update. Billions!! Books would have to be re-written, flags re-placed, websites would have to be updated(even though these would be pretty easy). This isn't like Telecom renaming itself to Sparks, because the NZ flag is worldwide. I think that sometimes politicians are idiots.
