I think that a flag has a lot of benefits and consequences. In my opinion the pros out way the con's. For too long our flag has looked a lot like Australia's and it hasn't resembled us Kiwis. I think that a change isn't needed but it is favoured.  There are quite a few logistical challenges that need to be incorporated in changing the flag how the previous flag will be out of date and so all of the suppliers will have to to redo the design and all of the current stock they have will be useless.
There is also a lot of inconvenience like tourists who have come to New Zealand and bought the old flag will be left with a useless flag. I think that it would be nice for the public to vote but there is just so many people. I think that it should decided by Mr John Key as it makes it a lot easier. Our flag isn't really a flag that symbolizes us as a nation we don't need the union jack on our flag we should show the world our independence and be proud of who we are and include our history into the process of making the new flag.
