The Power of Picture Books-Judd

The book that I brought was Berty was a Watch Dog. I brought it in because it was my favourite book when it got read to me and it was really funny. I think to make a successful picture book it either has to be funny and short, have a good meaning and moral or just rhyme. I think that the artwork is the most important thing in the book because usually a picture book is read to you when you can't read so you look at the pictures. I think that it would be relatively easy to write a picture book but some parts  of it would be hard because you need to have a problem in the book that is sad but if it's to sad otherwise the book isn't liked by the children. My top three picture books would be Berty was a Watch Dog, Peter the Pirate, Giraffes can't Dance and coming at fourth is The Gruffalo, because they were all funny had a good problem in them that was always fixed with a good solution and happy ending.
