The Magical Rainbow Powers of Picture Books - Luke S
When I was young and impressionable, I was read a great deal of picture books, with the readers hoping to instill good habits and morals before I would even need those things. One of the only ones I remember being read to me was the Lorax. But I was generally rooting for the Once-ler, and wondering how he made such a profitable business just by initially chopping down a tree. This story inspired me, but I still saw flaws in his business plan. He had no plantation of trees that were cared for, so it would perpetually keep going and growing, and he had no regard for the land he was polluting. you need to keep the wildlife and such alive so they keep the trees healthy and in a good state.
