Good morning boys. We are right in the thick of the action and well past the halfway mark of LOTF. Can you feel the the pressure and tension build in the story? Why do you think this book (and especially the characters) are so compelling? What sort of techniques does William Golding use to draw out the storyline? Which character annoys/frustrates you and why? Of which character do you have the most sympathy? Why do you think a book such as this sells so many copies and is so highly regarded by the literary world? If you were on that island who would have your vote? If you were to sum up this book so far (even with five chapters to go...) in one sentence for a blurb on a back cover, what would it be?
