Term 4 is the most frantic term of the year. It's a time when Independent Study takes over and we give our all. It is also a time when most of the year 7s realise that they need to stop gaming and start working on their Independent Study or their speech or whatever they need to do. My Independent Study is sort of on track. I'm confident about my presentation being on time and up to scratch and I am semi-confident that my booklet will be good and in when it is due. I'm not so confident about my speech. All I have done is written a quick introduction and bulleted the outline of my speech. I don't really know how I am going to do my speech in week 3. I have a couple of ideas on how to keep people listening in my presentation. One of them is to scatter quiz questions here and there to make sure people are listening. I will hand out chocolate coins to those who can answer a question correctly (this works well because my topic is 'The Story of Money'). I have also taken out most of the boring things such as mortgages and GST and reduced them to bullets. I intend to make the presentation as interesting and hooking as possible. Independent Study is a great way to build up your work ethic to the point where you can do a very good job, or just to give things a shot. I am enjoying my topic and I hope that college won't be to difficult.
