Being a writer - Mr T

Good morning boys.  By now you have all completed you WNB for 2013 (and they look fabulous on our shelf). I have thrown you many challenges over the last three terms (Year 8s... you will have completed approximately 40 separate pieces over your two years in 7/8T).  Setting, reading, and assessing your writing is a real pleasure for me because it opens a window into your life, your thinking, your state of mind, your perspective on the world.  Every week, without fail, several boys have blown me away with their insight, their 'angle', their turn of phrase, their vocab, their sheer originality.  How does it feel to be a writer? Did you ever consider yourself a writer?  Which piece did you enjoy writing the most?  Which one was the greatest challenge?  Who else do you admire in the classroom for their writing?  Why?  If you could design a Writer's Notebook challenge for one week what would you call it?
