Animal Farm-Ben S
I think a classic is a book that has a regular interpretation. I mean, why would you write a story if nothing happened at all? You have to have a problem, and a resolution. You ahve the regular mundane life on a farm, and then something massive happens. It actually starts from the beginning of Animal Farm, with Old Major's speech on a revolution. I think we probably shouldn't have seen the movie first, as it kind of spoils the entire book when you know what's about to happen (see Spoilers). I think it's best to have a mental picture first, and then see how it plays out in the movie. At these early stages, it's rather hard to see what Napoleon is truly like. I mean, he's currently caring for the nine puppies, of course to no good intention, but if you hadn't seen the movie, you would still think of him helping out. It's rather strange of him to hate Snowball's ideas. After all, his ideas are the best for all the animals...
