First off, I do believe it was a poor descision to axe Dean Barker. While he has no gold medals, or outstanding achievements, he ALMOST won the America's Cup for us. At least we won eight races. It's not like we lost all of them.
Being a compeditive swimmer, I have to deal with disapointments and setbacks. But, in all fairness, I haven't really had many disapointments, and no setbacks. But think about it this way. While you don't get in the 1st XI, think about the kid that did, because of your sacrifice. Say that you lost 50 dollars. Consider it a donation. That 50 dollars could have gone to someone that was incredibly desperate, and, you have to remember that money isn't everything.
Life has to have ups and downs (bringing this back to what is said earlier), because your ups will be someone elses downs. If life goes perfectly for you, you will be disapiontly hundreds, maybe even thousands of people becuase you got what they wanted. Also, let it be humbling, and make you grateful for what you did get.
I know I've played Devil's Advocate for this entire blog, but it is all true.
