Good morning boys. We are over halfway through the year. In 11 weeks the first of us (yr 8s you are the first in the queue) will be standing up the front of the classroom delivering your presentation. It may seem daunting, it may seem very close, it may seem like the last thing you want to do but every single one of you will deliver. You will be THE expert in the classroom on your chosen topic. I am very interested in what you think you need to do to be at your very best (presentation and booklet). I think it is healthy to be regularly evaluating your goals. I have my own goals for Independent Study (and they shift from year to year, group to group). Some of my goals: check in with every boy (one on one) at least once every two weeks, improve how we reference our work, complete a montage of videoed presentations to demonstrate (especially for yr 7s) what a presentation looks/feels/sounds like, and provide a few stepping stones in the form of activity deadlines (eg first one - in draft form - by today). What are your Independent Study goals for the next two terms? What have you learnt from your topic already? How motivated were you to complete some work during the holidays? Have you got enough resources? Are you feeling stuck? Are you looking forward to sharing your topic with your classmates?
Why is it called the 3rd 100?
