1) LOTF
2) Enders game
3) Fahrenheit 451
4) The Phantom Tollbooth
Yes, thats how they stand. I started Enders game thinking it would be a sort of Fahrenheit 451. Even though written around the same period and dating into the future, they both tell very different stories. While Ray Bradbury tells a slightly more realistic prediction of the future, Awesome Scott Card tells of many futuristic things that are much like many things we have today.
I quite like futuristic novels as you can judge them and predict how realistic they actually are. Both books lead (or are leading) to what looks like a sort of World War III. While Enders game looks a lot further into the future than F 451, Ray Bradbury predicts the future in other ways. In that way, it reminds me of the books 1984 and Brave New World.
On the whole, I am very much enjoying Enders game and can't wait to see what happens next!
Edward - thank you for your comments and great to see yo take the class novel seriously. Have you read Brave New World and 1984? I have another for you if you enjoyed that one...
