I think Ender's Game is a really well written novel. It seems to be very ahead of it's time (1985) not only in gadgets but in style of writing. Ray Bradbury's novel Fahrenheit 451was admittedly written 35 years before Ender's game but it was much slower paced than Ender's Game.
This book despite it's interesting concept is not very well marketed. I didn't even know it existed before it became our class novel. Putting this book on the off the radar reading list is a good idea although we would end up reading the book in class anywhere. However putting the book on the list would mean siblings could read the book.
I think this book's book to movie transition will be interesting. In the book there are a lot of secrets and there is a build up to the events in the book. That will be hard to portray in a movie and from what I can see from the trailer the movie will probably be more exciting and action packed.
In my opinion Ender's Game is a great book from what I can tell and Orson Scott Card is a great writer.
Enders Game is in way a better Fahrenheit 451.
