Three Big Things - William

Last night the Senior Syndicate performed their production for the second time. I enjoyed it, even though I didn't have a very big part. I would like to say I contributed with my spectacular dance moves; but I didn't. I thought that all the productions were very good, at times witty, at times serious and they all got the audience involved, which was great. Yesterday we had debating, which I enjoyed immensely, and, hopefully I will take up debating at college. I think that most important weapon in a good debaters armoury is the ability to think on their feet, be witty, tongue in cheek and not too serious. Our debate went quite well and we came away with a win which was good. I was relatively pleased with my own performance, even though my rebuttal was below par. In regard to speech, I would say that I have started by pushing singles, not smashing boundaries, but, nevertheless, I have accumulated some runs on the board. My topic is "Democracy", and hopefully my last speech at Wellesley will be a good one. And last, but definitely not least, Independent Study. The Watergate Scandal is ticking along nicely, and closer to the end of year it will start to take shape into what will hopefully be a good Independent Study.
