My Independent Study this year has gone well. Despite all the things I missed, I feel like I have done well, and have done a lot more than I did in year 7. I feel that even though it's all finished, I still have a lot more to go, before I am completely finished (I wonder why...?). Larger inquires will be done when I reach secondry school.
The hardest part in my Independent Study was probably comparing James Cook to other explorers. It required me to look deeply into 4 different explorers, (and Captain Cook) and after that, compare them and find out which one did greater things. Unfortunately, Cook didn't win, but it was still an activity worth doing.
My topic choice seemed like quite a great topic choice as it has relevance to New Zealand, and that it is a topic that most people know about, but also no one had done the topic yet. This was quite unexpected, as it seems like a topic that many people would've thought to do. It has been a difficult topic, but I feel I have learned a lot.
Despite me being very proud of my topic, I feel like there is a gap in it, and that my topic is missing something. When I compare my booklet to a couple of other people in the class, I realise that those people didn't have any gaps. Despite all this, I still am unable to find what might be missing.
Unlike how I thought last year, this year my presentation didn't cause me to stress. It didn't even feel remotely difficult. This would be because I have done this before, and that I knew that it wouldn't be any trouble. I have really enjoyed my Independent Study this year, and I am proud of how it turned out.
