Bradbury captured future technologies very well for his time. I think that children today would interpret the book differently than children 10 or more years ago due to the rapidly changing technology. I do agree that both kids and adults argue a lot and moan from time to time and I think today's type are the more 'glass half empty' because of whats on offer and the who gets what situation (we should be grateful for what we get).
Beatty said that "A fireman can only have a book for twenty four hours and then he can either burn it or the fire department can burn it for him." It was nice of Beatty to warn Montag as he probably doesn't hate him.
We aren't really dumbing down we are just shortening our things to make room for other things, eg: the NZ Herald has changed from broadsheet to tabloid format.
If we couldn't use computers to do our independent study it would not really affect me as most of the information I will be finding won't be from the Internet and I could do my TSM and other tasks on paper but I would have to get the spelling perfect!
