I didn't really enjoy Fahrenhiet 451 because I couldn't get into it, it just passed by me. It had very futuristic feel for it, especially because it was written before ipods were invented (the closest thing to seashell radios). A classic is defined as an old book, which is well known and read often. My gut feeling is that the book was good, but I needed to read it myself, without gaps. I didn't enjoy it at all, but I would like to try the movie, maybe watch it in our wall to wall TV parlour!
You raise a good point about classics. I also didn't really enjoy the book. I hope Lord Of The Flies is better!!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I have high hopes for Lord of the Flies, I do like dystopian and sort of scary books. But I do remember watching the movie a few years ago and being quite freaked out. I hope the book is less scary!
ReplyDeleteWell, movies are very graphic and can be gruesome and whatnot, while its harder to get a picture for books.
ReplyDeleteI agree.. But books leave more for the imagination to take over, and you can picture it in many ways, some of them being scary.
