A Curious Incident... - William

I am thoroughly enjoying Mark Haddon's cracking novel TCIOTDITNT. I think that Christopher Boone is a normal boy, caught up in his own world, his own thoughts and his own way of doing things. My sympathies lie with Christopher's Father as he tries his hardest to look after Christopher after his wife died (or did she?). I think that Christopher Boone would not like some of the shades of colours on the covers of the Independent Studies and WNB's if he was in 7/8T.

TCIOTDINTNT_Ben.M

TCIOTDINTNT is an amazing must read. I have never heard of such an interesting and at the same time different book before. I think Christopher is a very unusual boy who looks at things a different way and I think it's good that this book shows it from his perspective because it sort of gives you an insight to what the life of people with disabilities is like so that we can understand how people with disabilities feel. If Christopher was in 7/8T I think he would be confused and would be squeezing his eyes tight shut because of the colours and one of us would be injured so maybe its good that he isn't in here and he is where he is. I can't wait to discover who killed Wellington and am just loving the book.
P.S. We really need to make a shorter name for the book :-}

TCIOTDITN-T - Tom Bevan

I am really enjoying TCIOTDITN-T at the moment. I am finding that Christopher will start explaining one thing and then start explaining something that he mentioned while explaining the first thing and so on. It gets very confusing. If Christopher was in 7/8T I think we would hear a lot of screaming because of all of the information that we get, and we all know that if Christopher gets to much information he will start screaming, sometimes and hitting people...

TCIOTDITNT - Tim S

Basically I wouldn't of heard of this book without Mr. Tait. Pretty much if you have heard of this book and haven't read it... Let's just say you haven't lived a proper life. It's a brilliant book starring a smart curious boy (Christopher Boon) who sees things differently than you might imagine... It's worth a laugh and a bit of a cry but it's definitely worth those few days reading it to really enable yourself to see what people with mental disorders see. All I can say is read it or never live properly, pretty much it's a good book. Now, to the book shop!

TCIOTDITNT- Angus Arbuthnott

Christopher is a very interesting and unique boy. I think that he would quite enjoy it in our class because he could do what ever he wanted for independent study. I am pretty sure that he will retrieve his book from the bin and will continue writing it. I think he and his dad will  have a hard time getting over the incident that they had lately.

A Peculiar Accident - Ned

so

TCIOTDITNT is a great book! It made me laugh a lot.

But on a serious note, it made me laugh because of the way Christopher sees things, and he interprets them differently. For example, he does not like metaphors because if someone says

"I'm as happy as Larry"

he'll presumably start thinking about who the [profane language] is Larry.
Another bit I like is that he cannot lie.

question: if you said "this sentence is false" WHAT WOULD HE SAY BACK.

I really want to know this.

Honestly, this a great book. 1/1, would read with the class again.
A CURIOUS INCIDENT...

I am really enjoying the book so far and I have a feeling that something big is going to happen!

TCIODTDITNT-Jake

We are currently reading and enjoying.

The curious incident of the dog in the night time. TCIODTDITNT for short.

This my first book in 7/8T and I am really enjoying it, the story keeps on changing and I like how the main character Christopher Boone is writing the story inside the story. The book has a great story line and that keeps evolving. I cannot wait to see what happens next all the time.

A Curious Incident - Matt

Good Morning Mr Tait. I think that this is a book unlike many other books (it is unique like most books we read in this class). Christopher Boone is as far as we can tell autistic (although Mark Haddon never says this directly in the book) His greatest challenge seems to be simply to fit in. Mark Haddon is extremely successful with giving us this insight (hence this being such a popular booK).

TCIOTDITNT-LUCCA

I think that the book is very interesting and cliff hanging. I am really enjoying it. I like the way Christopher thinks but some things are a lot of different compared to what we think (especially hitting people if they touch you).  I think Christopher would get a bit stressed about all the work in 7/8T but if not I think he would cope quite well.

Curious Incident...-Anish

Christopher Boon is a smart an intelligent kid, if he was in this classroom right now he would be typing like a bullet with his blog, and finishing it in about two minutes with three pages full of writing. The words I would use to summarize this book it would be humorous and well thought.

A Curious Incident_ArchieC

I am enjoying TCIOTDITNT and my first thoughts are that it is unfolding very well and i'm reallylookinng foward to the rest of the book.  I think that some of the hardest challenges that Christopher will face will be the fact that he can't just do whatever he wants at the time he wants to do it. Christoper is a interesting and quirky charcter but i'm not sure if he would fit in with 7/8T, because the nature of this class is you can't just spend a day where you don't do anything because you've seen three yellow cars on the way to school that day. The three words I would use to sum up the book would probably quirky, thought provoking and a excellent read.

TCIOTDITNT-Felix R-M

If Christopher was in 7/8T he would very much not like to be in the house Wellington because it's yellow and wouldn’t really like any body in Wellington. He might want to be in Selwyn and would like all the other boys in Selwyn because Selwyn is red. I reckon he would do well in the independent study with his vast knowledge on space. I hope the book continues to be as good as it is now.

TCIOTDITNT- GRAYH

I am enjoying TCIOTDITNT very much and my first thoughts are that Christopher is a very interesting character. I am very interested about how he views colors and the way he views the world differently from everyone else. I don't think that Christopher would like being at Wellesley as he would not fit in because he is not at all social and starting at a new school he would not talk to anyone for four weeks. I am enjoying Haddons writing very much. Rating: 7.5/10

TCIOTDITN

If you ask me this book is good. I enjoy the viewpoint from Christopher Boon. It's a really good book air love it. Cristopher reminds me of Sherlock Holmes. I hope that the book continues to be as interesting further into the chapters.

My Thoughts on the book are very good because it puts in the life and brain of someone who thinks differently also it is a great story and has many lessons and is a great fun read. If christopher was in our class i would think he would do very well but have no friends and i think he would enjoy it and do well.

A Curious Incident... - Atharva

I really like the way Mark Haddon has made the main character, Christopher Boone, autistic. It brings something new to the book, as other books have straight-minded people. My sympathy lies with Christopher's father, as it must have been hard losing a wife and being left with an autistic child. My favorite part about the book is that Christopher is, apart from trying to find out who killed Wellington, expressing his mind to the book and is also learning more about his own parents. If Christopher was in 7/8T, he would ace Mr B's math class, as well as doing an excellent Independent Study.

Good morning Mr Tait. A highly peculiar incident I say. +=+Hugo

Do you know what, I reckon that [===] Killed wellington. I know the answer, that's why I hid my prediction. I am really looking forward to when Christopher finds the envelope containing information about [===========]. Christopher is unlucky because he won't eat food that is brown meaning that he can't eat chocolate. That really must suck. I reckon tht if he was in 78T he would do just fine (Presuming Tim wasn't in the room. yr9 tim that is.)
I would now like to end on some very wise words.
إ ريلي ليك  .

A Curious Incident...-Judd A

My gut feeling on Christopher is that he is a bit different and that he is going to get into a bit of trouble trying to find out who killed Wellington the dog, and it might not be as easily solved as you'd think. I think Christopher would fit right in, in 7/8T as he is a diligent worker. If I used three words to sum up this they would be: interesting, unusaul and different, as the book has been written in a different style to what it would "normally" be. The greatest challenges that Chritopher is facing is probably comunicating differently to other people which means he cannot socialize in the same way  that we do.

A Curious Incident - Noah L

I have been really enjoying The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time or as Mr Tait calls it, TCIOTDITNT. I think that it's a really interesting book and is quite different to the other books we've read in class. I think that Mrk Haddon has written a great book and has made a great insight into someone's life that is so different to ours.

A Curious Incident- Krishina

Christopher is looking at the world in a different way and is obbsesed with finding out who killed wellington and is digging up secrets he was never meant to know. This poses a view of problems and issues that the authour will have to overcome to make a resolution. I think he will uncover more secrets even with his fathers annoyance with his detective work and resolve with the murderer admiting that he did it because of Christopher's unrelenting undercover work.

If he was transplanted into 7/8T he would not handle moving the desks around for tests and would need everything that is yellow or brown to be removed no mean feat for even walking past the wood in the corridor would cause problems. His inteligence would fit in well but his different look on the world would be a hard problem to overcome in a wooden building.

A Curious Incident... - Mr T

Good morning boys.  We are currently enjoying Mark Haddon's highly acclaimed novel TCIOTDITN-T (long title, you know I love acronyms...).  What is your 'red hat' thinking on this book?  What are your thoughts on the leading character, Christopher Boone?  What are the greatest challenges he is facing and why?  If you had three words to sum up the style of this book what words would you use?  How successful do you think Haddon is in giving us insight into someone who thinks, acts, and operates so differently from most people?  Where do your sympathies lie?  Which character?  Despite initially playing our as a portrait of despair, how do you think the author will weave his magic and find a 'resolution'?  How do you think Christopher would go if he was in your classroom, 7/8T?

and we're off GRAYH

my first ever week at Wellesley has been really fun. everyone has been really nice, the facilities are  great and it's been very fun. So far my highlight has been wharf jumping. BRING IT ON 2016!!

And we're off- Angus

My first week at Wellesley has been amazing. The students and teachers, classrooms, facilities, everything. One of my highlights this week has been wharf jumping, I really enjoy doing it in the morning. The other students have given me a warm welcome and I can't wait till next week and the rest of the year. Bring it on 2016!

And we're off - Tim

It's been slightly stressful the first week, but Mr Tait managed to drag us through it unscathed. Phew. We've done a lot of warf jumping in the five days we've had. Mr Tait told us the expectations for work, they are high, but achievable. This week has been fun, despite the fact we still need to work. I've had some fun and funny times. The year eights are a useful tool that I use, mainly for squeezing answers but...

Blog - Lucca

I just finished updating my blog!

And we're off!-Felix R

This week has been really great,  I would rate it a 4.5/5 I really enjoyed the wharf jumping and the writers notebook and the view out to the bay.  Really enjoying the novel I think its a good choice of Mr Taits.  Going back to school has made me grimace and grin at the same time because it's all nice coming back to school and seeing your friends but nothing is better than relaxing in the holidays.   The most enjoying piece of work has been the writers notebook because I really like writing and the topics that Mr Tait gives us are really interesting.

And were off, ArchieC

I'm really looking foward to thhe rest of my second year in 7/8T and am really liking the step up into year eight with the new found privileges and responsibilities. Three things I am looking foward to this year are probably wharf jumping, independent study and probably the selected sport.

Awesome new year. Lucca

The start of this year has been great and we're straight into work and we've already started our year long studies. My first day was good and all the year 8's were very nice and it's good to have some friends from last year in my class. The new boys are also good and have already fitted in and it looks like their having a great time. There's a bit more work than last year but that's good because it keeps me occupied and it doesn't mean I have to wait until I get another piece of work. So over all the first couple of days have been very fun.
I would rank my first week back 5/5. I have enjoyed the class activities a lot.
The wharf jumping was lots of fun and our p.e lesson. I'm really looking forward to next week.

And we're off! - Ben

This has been my first week at wellesley and it has been great. Awesome classrooms, awesome teachers, awesome kids and an all round awesome place. I really enjoyed doing WNB and am looking foward to the rest of the year.

And we're off-Jake B

My first week has been amazing, the weather was great.

The three things that have been good this week are going wharf jumping, Doing the web and the amazingly hot weather.

So far I have followed the golden rule, or at least I think I have. I really liked the
WNB and I think it is going to be very fun over the year.

I like the class novel so far I think it will be very interesting as it pans out.

Overall I am very happy coming back to school and being in 7/8T

And we're off - William

Ah, back in 7/8T for anotherr year at Wellesley College. It makes me rather sad that Gus is gone and I think that of this year's Year 8's will agree with me. I would rate my week rather well as I have largely hit the ground running and have re-settled in nicely. My conduct has been pretty good and I have been following the Golden Rule. This year I want to avoid being a slippery eel, and produce a good Independent Study.

And we're off...- Judd A

I would rate my first week in 7/8T very highly as it is completely different being a year eight. Even though I'm still in the habit of standing up when year sevens get told to go somewhere. The piece of work that has been most enjoyable this week has probably been writing my WNB on Selling my family as it was lots of fun. As a year eight you get lots of different priviliges my  favourite one so far has probably been getting to use the microwave wich makes food taste so much better. Also being a year eight you get to have a junior buddy and mine is pretty cool.

And we've decided to walk, not run, away. - Ned

EYY

I'm here too I guess.

last year I wrote really weird and stupid blogs that Ben and Max and others read but now I have no one to read my blogs except for maybe Matt. Unless "They" come back.

My first week in the dreaded 7/8t was pretty good. I became a year 8 and decided to eat up Jordan's hat. Jordan used to be a junior until we ate him.

not really

Three things that have "Lit My Fire" (copyrighted and trademarked by taity inc) are the pav lunches that we will have in a week, ICE CREAM DAY YEEEEEEY andddddd

going back to school?

DOES GOIN BAK TO SKULL AFTRE LONGK WEAK ENT FEEL NOT GOOD????1?

It feels like a hot sundae on a hot afternoon and someone forces you to eat it which I don't like.

so k thanks for doing things and looking at this blog

And Where Off-Tom B

The first week in 7/8T has been great. This class is so much much different to all of the other classes that I have ever been in, in a good way. My favorite piece of work this week has probably been the writers because, well it's really fun and you can be a bit silly with the whole "Sellign Your Family" Thing

And were're off... - Atharva

A very good  start to another year in 7/8T. I've already seen the new privileges that are gifted to year eights. When I was a year 7, I couldn't imagine myself as one of  those beastly year 8s. I was actually excited to become a year 8, as my main hope was to see the new year 7s, who look tiny by the way. I like how the year 8s are experiencing new stuff despite being in the same room and teacher. Overall, I'd rate the week 8/8, and I can't wait to tackle the rest of the year.

And We're Off - Luke

The new year begunwith me lying on a hammock, book in hand, singing; 'oh he is a jolly good fellow' oh how far i have come.
I would rate my first week 4 awesomes out of 5 awesomes. I think that my conduct has been good and that I have followed the golden rule very well. My favourite piece of work has been my WNB because I got to write about Scammy Mc Scammalot

And we're horse racing- Hugo

I really like being in 7/8T and am very highly happy that I get to stay here for 2 years. Sadly this is year 2 and I will be leaving at the end of the year. This year I am actually AHEAD in my indy study. I'm luvvin the novel and even though I have already read it it is still very very very  very very very  very very very  very very very  very very very  very very very  very very very  very very very good.
Nothing is making me grimace and groan at this very moment except for Finbar SWAG's post. My TSM is second draft and I am most likely doing Attila the Hun.
Mr T made a reference to horse racing so it is here.
#RedPeakShould'veWon
(ง☉Ꮂ☉)ง

And we're off-Krishina

My first week in 78T has been great. Everything is organised and prepared all the work is fun. And all the home work is school work it is amazing because homework isnt extra work it is school work.

And were're off and we are gonna have a great year full of great activities and fun times And were're off Also This Blog
Really captures this class as a whole and is great

And we're off - Noah L

My first week his year has been great, especially because of the weather. The things I have enjoyed this week have been WNB, because I got it done on time in the first week, wharf jumping, and the weather. I think that I have been following the golden rule well so far this year. The most enjoyable part of work so far for me has been WNB which is surprising because last year I usually didn't like WNB. I think that the class novel has been great so far. I am really enjoying it and I would probably read it again. So far I think it has been a great year and am looking forward to my second year in 7/8T

And we're off- Tom A

And we're off... - Mr T

Good morning boys.  And we're off... The gate is open and the horses are galloping.  You have started a new school year, the weather has been fantastic, and you will have many thoughts running through your head.  How would you rate your first week in 7/8T?  Name three things which have 'lit your fire' this week?  How has your conduct been?  To what extent have you been following the 'Golden Rule'?  What piece of work has been the most enjoyable for you?  Would you recommend our current class novel (keeping in mind that we have only really just started it)?  How do you see our class culture so far?  Which boy has surprised you with something positive so far this year?  If you had to write a sentence describing how you think other boys from the classroom see you then what would you write?  Does coming back to school next week (after a long weekend) make you grimace or grin?  Why?
