Halfway-Archie C

This term I think I haven't really kept up with my goals but have subconsciously done a couple of them. I dont really remember what they are but I can rememeber about three of them. I really like doing the W.N.B Just a Number because it was fun and interesting to do. I think I can get my green light by W1 of next term. I think I need to improve in the art of staying on task.

Half way- Tom A

Wow half of the year is gone. The first 2 terms have been hectic. I've played in the school band at assembly for the first time and have gotten my green light for I.S. In terms 3 &4 I think I could improve my "radar" and my meeting of deadlines. But enough about school, its the holidays. Time to go home and SLEEP.

Halfway-William

We are officially half way through the school year. There have been highs, and there have been lows. Like the roller coaster the 7/8T is, the highs make you feel invincible and the lows make you consider vermin a species higher than you in God's great chain of importance. I cannot remember my goals but I have not achieved what I would expect myself to achieve. One specific thing that I can improve on in T3 and T4 is my impulsivity. I am confident that my Independent Study will pan out well in T3 and will set me up for a good T4. The next book in my Book Queue is The Eagle has Flown, a novel by Jack Higgins.

halfway - Jim

I have enjoyed the first half of this year although I'm glad that the holidays have arrived! Work slowly churns on and everyone is making progress. Next term I hope to really get cracking on my independent study and finish my booklet and get a lot done on my presentation. I think study is a challenge but will be a great end product. I hope everyone has a great holiday and I will be sitting back and chilling out. Looking forwardish to seeing everyone in term three!

Halfway - JOSH

It's sad to think that my time at Wellesley is coming to an end so quickly. But I'm also really enjoying my year so far. I've had a very good term. Not as eventful as my first one but still very good. I think I've kept track on my goals. I've had a whole lot of fun. I can remember a few of my goals but not all. But the ones I do remember I think I've accomplished. I feel like I've put my all into my work and I've stayed consistent. The piece of work that made me smile was the Superhero for Rent WNB I thought it was a really creative subject. I want to improve in my maths so that I do well in Aussie Maths. My next book in the queue is 1984 by George Orwell!

Halfway there- Will

The year so far has been awesome. Along with the fact that I can really feel my independent study starting to build up I can also feel the hype levels of the school going up. My biggest challenge this year. That is easy... For me it has been realising that next year I am at college. It hadn't really got into my head until recently but I have now realised that the warm, safe and fun enviroment that is primary school will be far behind in roughly two terms. But until then I'll keep embracing everything that taitertots has to teach me.

Blog TItle I can't remember - Happy Underweight Good Orange Or Hugo

I think the best piece of work has been the Superhero For Rent writer's notebook. Taco Man was very fun to write about. ኖው እ ስፔአቅ እን ክልንጎን። My independent study has been going good and I have really been enjoying 7/8T. I like how in 7/8T you do one big study and I find that fun. If I had to improve on one thing it would be ምይ ውርተርስ ኖተብኡቅ። That's right I think I need to work on my ውርተርስ ኖተብኡቅ። My writer's notebook.

Halfway - Matt

My best/favourite piece of work is A Picture tells 1000 Words (the adventures of a very rude man) I have had so many opportunities that I couldn't list them all. I have totally forgotten my goals. I wasn't really sure of my expectations and therefore I cannot judge whether I met them or not. One big improvement would be my WNB's which all (apart from a picture tells 1000 words) are extremely short.

Halfway there - Toby c

Halfway there... It's halfway through the term and things are looking up for me and my independent study  I am well on the way for my booklet. I am really enjoying playing for the XV I have scored one try this year it was against Scott's and let me tell you it was a RIPPA! It was a lineout on our 22 they went for a short line out I took the ball before their prop hade a chance ran 20m then did a Julian Savea fend and scored in totali ran about 50m and if I don't say so myself it was pretty good for a prop. One thing I need to work on is not to sniff 24/7!

Halfway-Anish

The halfway through the year already! I am surprised since it felt like on three weeks, al least I am up to date with every thing especially my independent study. I have been doing a lot of work with the tests that has already happened and hoping I have done really well. I think I should improve on getting my WNB and spelling done at the start rather than on Thursday.

Halfway - Luke

We are officially halfway through the year. My independent study is going very well. I have completed 2/5 of my booklet. In the holidays I will try to complete another section of my independent study. The one thing I will try to improve is the rate I am completing my independent study. Currently I am completing one page a week. I want to be able to complete two pages a week at least. I also want to manage my impulsive. I will do this by thinking before I act.

Halfway - Ben S

Wow. Halfway into the year already. Only two more terms in 7/8T. This is very scary, to be honest. However I can't wait for the end of the year, when we start presentations and the writing of our booklets. Year 7s, you annoying little things, will really  enjoy term 4, when everything gets panicky, and the presentations start rolling in. You don't believe how  much you would give for the amount of P List time you have now at the end of the year. Those few minutes of school you miss out on when you are late back becomes valuable. And, of course, I have completely forgotten my goals, along with the rest of us, but hey, we're having a great year. One thing I think I can improve on next term and the one after that is probably filing.

Halfway-Max

I have kept track of my goals and remember them. Yes, my expectations were to get my green light and get someway through my Independent Study. My biggest challenges were the ICAS exams. I could improve my WNBs by spending more time on them. I see my Independent Study booklet being half done and starting my presentation. My next book is hopefully the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Halfway - Noah

I think I have done quite well this term with getting my stuff in on time. The only thing I am a bit behind in is independent study. I can't really remember my goals. I can remember that one of my goals was to get distinction in ICAS maths. That's the only goal I can remember. My favourite piece of work was my WNB just a number because it was the first time I got highly commended. I have been doing quite well with my spelling sentences and I have got 10/10 6 weeks in a row. I think I should try and get my I.S done quicker. I think in term two I will start doing much better with my independent study because I have only really just got started. In the holidays I am going to do some of the work on my independent study so I am up to date. The next book in my "queue" is divine madness in the CHERUB series.

Halfway - Andy-rew

I'm quite happy with my efforts this term in all areas (academic, sporting, musical and some other areas.  I haven't really kept track of my goals, but I have a feeling that I've already completed a fair number of them. A piece of work that I really enjoyed this term was  the hidden poems. I've always wanted to do something like them, but I've never had the opportunity to do so.
I think that I can improve on concentration when in class. My Independent study is going really well, and I will do a little planning for term three Independent study over the holidays.
I'm going to read the skullduggery pleasant series over the holidays.

Halfway-GusM

Man, halfway. Just twenty weeks at the most until I give my prenentation. What have I done? Around fifteen pages of my booklet, give or take. And over the holidays when my sister is at school, guess what I'm doing. Yes, that's right, doing school work. But I suppose I should, because the week after that I'm leaving for Australia, where I'll spend three to four hours on a plane getting away from anything school-related.

But next term is even tougher, and if I'm going to improve, I need to bring... a red pen! Otherwise I'll get my first red card(gasp!)!

Halfway there.

We are entering the mid point of school. In another year's time, I will be a year 8, and will have been cryogenically frozen somehow and not have been a year 8.

I think that my Independent Study was not the "top of the class, oh my goodness you're so cool, wow, you've done so much work" this term. What I am saying is it could have been better.

Although, I think that term two was a very good work term for me, and I wish my self luck on the road of term 3. And dealing with the year eights.

A thing I could improve on is practising on my trumpet. Seriously, though, it is going downhill unless it practise practise Chris Pratt! Get it? It sounds like practice! PrattChris! No? Ok.

Halfway-Judd

The next book that I have lined up is Animal farm. The one piece of work that put a smile on my face would have to be writing Superhero for Sale for Wrters Notebook. Over the holidays for my independent study I have lots of tasks lined up to do e.g. I have to write a report about the Filming of the Lord of the Rings in Tongariro National Park, I also have to make a model of the three mountains in Tongariro National Park. I see my independent study panning out well for me as long as I get lots of work done and relax. I did reach my expectations for work this term for working and conduct because I have gotten every piece of work in on time. I think that something that I could improve would be doing more independent study in my spare time.
It certainly was a wonderful half-year. It feels as if all this happened in one blink of the eye. I'm looking forward to the holidays, because of seeing my friends, watching movies and our trip to America, during my birthday. But I won't have a happy-go-lucky attitude because Mr Tait can nail me for all the work I've missed out on. But most of all sleeping on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc. One thing I'd like to improve is making deadlines, because I'm not exactly good on completing work on time. Maybe I could use some of my spare time at home to complete work.

Toby M - Halfway

I am very satisfied with my progress in all areas over these two terms and compared with last year my independent study is significantly better. My sporting acheivements have been far better than last year  and my writing has been fenominaly more fluent. I am also quite distressed about how fast time has filed and the fact that it' only >100 days till we have to do our presentations. These first two terms have been very good for me and I think that at the end of the year I will be ready for the next step. One thing that I can improve on is making my handwriting far neater and hopefully that dream will come true.

Halfway there__ James

Are we already halfway there it has come up so quickly. My favourite part of the year has making the First XI cricket. I am very happy where with where I am at with my I.S. I got my green light halfway through term 2. My WNB has progressed really well with writing skills. I still resent spelling sentences though. I am looking froward to a 3 week braek as fun as school is I think we all need a brake here and there.

Halfway-Sam

I am reasonably happy with where I am at the halfway stage not over the moon, but it is going much better than last year. I think I can improve on getting on with my work earlier and not getting distracted in the classroom. My biggest challenge has probably been getting activities started. I see my independent study going well in term 3. I will have to do a lot of work over the holidays because in week 2 next term I'm going away to Singapore, London, France and Spain three weeks, Adios Amigos.

Halfway - Mr T

Good afternoon boys.  We are officially halfway through the school year.  Think of all the things you have done at school.  The opportunities you have had.  The highs.  The lows.  How would you summarise your term's efforts?  Have you kept track of your goals?  Do you remember what they were?  Did you reach your own expectations in terms of school work, conduct etc?  What is the one piece of work that really put a smile on your face?  What was your biggest challenge in T1/T2? Name one specific area where you know you could improve in T3/T4.  How do you see your Independent Study pan out for you over T3?  What sort of things could you do over the holidays which could help you for your I.S?  What is the next book in your 'queue'?

What is a Genius - Toby M

What is a genius?
A genius is a person who is very successful in 1+ academic/musical subjects. There have been many geniuses in the history including Mozart and Einstein. There are lots of geniuses in 7/8T and I can name lots of them. Currently, 8/12 year 8's are in Mr B's maths class. And considering that there are only 22 boys in Mr B's maths class we can determine that the year 8's of 7/8T are geniuses.

Genius-Hugo

I think a genius is either someone who excels in academic work or someone who comes up with stupid ideas. The word genius is becoming more of a sarcastic word than a compliment nowadays I think. Still a clever genius is just someone who excels in class work. Like Einstein even though he isn't in class. A genius is either a clever guy or a not so clever guy.

What is a genius_archie.c

A genius in my opinion is not only a person who excalls in acedemic work but someone who works well with others and gives insperation. Also I think a genius is a person who works well independently and can adept to everything or everyone.

What is Genius? - Atharva

One type of a genius is someone who constantly excels in everything. The other type is someone who isn't really the best at academics, but gets ideas.

What is a Genius-Tom A

The question ''what is a genius?'' is especially relevant to me because of my independent study. I think that some of the most influential genius ever include Leonardo da Vinci, Mozart, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Rembrandt and Van Gogh. Some of the pitfalls of being a genius would be arrogance and over sight.

What is a genius - Andrew

To me, a genius is a person with extreme cabability in one area or more. I assume that geniuses are born that way, unless they've had a gruelling and hard first years of life... I think there is no need for a test to find out if someone is a genius because it would be so apparent with them excelling at things. I don't think I know a genius but there are many smart people that I know.
If you were to be a genuis, you would become instantly become famous. Whether this is a pitfall or not (depending on the person), it would be inevitable. I don't believe there are geniuses in sport, just academics and some other areas.

What is a Genius?-Judd

What is a genius? I personally think that a genius is someone in any industry but they are very good at what they do for example a genius could be on the sporting field. A genius can be interested in any number of topics. A genius can be in any industry whether the sports, music or maybe even a political genius.I would like to be a genius I don't know why but it would be cool. One of the pitfalls of being a genius would probably be that you might end up boasting a lot. One of the advantages would most probably be being so good at something that you would most probably love doing.

What is a Genius? - Luke

I think a famous genies is Elbert Intestine.  I don't know what a genius is but they must have the Sutcliffe gene. If there were no geniuses the world would be flat the sun would rotate around us and there would be no word "genius".

Genius- Wll

To me a genius is someone who is amazing at one thing in particular and is fantastic in everything in his or her's chosen field. To me a genius can be from any field academic or sport. These would be the people I would class as being a genius.

Sport: Ronaldo. He reads the game with absolute precision. He handles himself under pressure. He plays for one of the best clubs in the world.

Academic: Albert Einstien. He has changed the world of maths forever.

Social: Me because who doesn't love me.

Genius = Ben

To be honest, I don't really believe that anyone really chooses a genius. After about a term in the same class with them, you get a pretty good idea if they are a genius or not. In my personal opinion, a genius is someone who excels on one particular subject. Of course, someone can excel at multiple subjects and still be a genius, but these people generally become arrogant little rats (cough, cough, Sutty) that think they are good at everything, and in the end, everybody unanimously strips them of their genius title. The genius title can also be given to someone who solves a difficult problem. And yes, I do believe some people are born geniuses (cough, cough, Sutty). And, only through a lot of hard work, man one become a genius. In your first term at school, that is the time when nobody's knows anybody's intelligence, so in this window, it is important you portray yourself as a genius. If you miss out on this, you need to try very hard, and start cramming random and incredibly intelligent facts into your head.

Note: Year Sevens cannot be geniuses. All the Year Eights agree on this.

What is a "Juinyoos"-Max

A Juinyoos is a person who possesses intelligence and uses it morally. We can test for juinyoos through IQ and SQ (intelligence and social quotient). Yes (*cough* *cough* Sutty, Stirling and Tibby). I think we use the term too much. A genius can be interested in multiple things, some being completely unrelated. A pitfall would be arrogance *cough* *cough*, Sutty.

Genius - Noah

I think that a genius is someone that can learn very easily and then they become ultra-smart. I don't think people are born a genius because I think they become one over time. I think an IQ test is a way of finding a genius. The higher your IQ the more of a genius you are. I do not know a genius. I think we use the term "genius" too often and it should only be used for ultra-smart people. I think that a genius should be someone who is smart in everything. When I think of someone who is a genius the first person I think of is Albert Einstein. Noah

What is a genius tobyc

Well for starters what is a genius? I'm pretty sure if you look it up in the the dictionary the definition is TOBY COOK. A genius is someone that is great at somthing, multiple times I have heard people tell chefs that they are a genius when they put out a great tasting and great looking dish.  Or someone that does a sporting miracle and people on the sideline call them a genius. Most people might think that a genius has to be someone that is super smart. A genius doesn't have to be smart academicly but they can be smart in other areas.

What is Genius - Luke S

Mozart, Einstien, Newton, all these people have the rank, I believe, of a genius, because, intellegence, out the window, but their contribution to their art, whether it be science, music, or, I dont know, the study of...    poop?

Genius-Anish

To me a genius is someone that is born with an intellectual mind right from the start of their birth. A genius is someone who gives feed back and gets things handed in on time, it could also be someone who gets 100% in a test.

What is a genius? -Sam

A genius is a smart person. I think that the most likely way for you to be a genius is to have Sutcliffe genes.  People with Sutcliffe genes are usually very good at Football, Tennis and Maths and Science. The way to become a genius is to be born Sutcliffe.

What is genius? - Mr T

Good afternoon boys.  I was reading something recently about 'genius' and it got me interested in your thoughts on this term we use.  What do you think makes a genius?  How does one become one?  Are people born genius?  How do we test for genius?  Do you know a genius?  Do we use the term too much or too little?  Can a genius be only interested (and excel) in one thing?  Who would you think would be considered as the top five geniuses of all time and why?  Would you want to be a genius?  What might be the pitfalls of being a genius?  Can someone think of a genius in the music industry?  The sports arena?  Technology? Film? Comedy?
